The Conference participants will be arriving on Thursday, and departing on Sunday. Although some late afternoon and evening pre-sessions begin on Thursday, most sessions begin on Friday morning. We anticipate 700 participants in this year's Conference, one of the largest in our history.
If you are interested in exhibiting at the GSA Conference, this letter will contain the information that you require.
PROGRAM: The preliminary program of the Conference, which will be revised, will be available on the GSA web site at www.g-s-a.org in April, and you will also find other useful information on this site. A printed copy of the Program is available at the end of August, and you can pick one up at the GSA Registration Desk.
EXHIBIT PRICING AND LOCATION: GSA charges $150 per exhibit table. Payment is requested in advance, by check, along with your reservation. Publishers are responsible for their books and other materials. The GSA Book Exhibit is in Salon IV of the Main Ballroom area. You may, and probably should, open your exhibit on Thursday afternoon, when arriving participants will be interested in beginning to look at them.
AIRLINE DISCOUNTS: Please look at our web site for airline booking. We have arranged with Signature Destinations to assist us by securing discounted airline fares. Due to the present airline market, it seems that ticket prices change almost hourly. Signature Destinations is familiar with this, and will attempt to find the lowest possible fare. Please contact them at wally@signaturedestinations.com or amy@signaturedestinations.com and they will assist you.
ADVERTISEMENTS: Advertising in the GSA Conference Program is available at $125 per page, and the latest date for sending us an ad (6X9 format) is July 1, 2004. Send the ad to us at thegsa@yahoo.com before this date. If you wish to advertise in the German Studies Review, our scholarly journal, please contact the Editor, Prof. Diethelm Prowe, at dprowe@carleton.edu , and you may also find out from him any further details about the journal. The next issue is October. Do not send him books for review. Contact him about where to send them. No brochures may be placed at the GSA Conference Registration Desk.
REGISTRATION AND HOTEL RESERVATIONS: Go to the GSA web site for conference registration, but click on Book Exhibitor, not on member or non-member. Those are for paying individual participants. You pay NO conference registration fee. Instead, mail a check for $150 per table payable to German Studies Association to our offices at 340 E. 15 th Street, Tempe, AZ 85226 along with a letter requesting the number of tables. Your check is your receipt. If you require a formal receipt, simply state this. We will send it. If you require an invoice, write to us at thegsa@yahoo.com and we will send you an invoice. For the hotel reservation, you will need to use the conference registration site, but bypass the payment option for registration. Simply go on line for the GSA registration process, and click on the Book Exhibitor item in the Conference Registration procedure. This will allow you to go to the Hotel Reservation section without paying. You do not need to fill out any other forms on the web site.
