The Conference will take place at:
Persons wishing to attend the Conference must register. A form is on this site. Participants in the Conference and other members of the Association will receive a final printed program in the mail during the month of August. All participants must be members of the Association for the year 2000 before the Conference begins. The Association provides a block of hotel rooms at a discounted rate. Reservation of these rooms can be made only through the Association, using the form available on this site or a copy thereof, and must be accompanied by a Conference Registration Form. Reservations at the Conference Hotel by other means will be subject to the regular rack rate of the Hotel. The Association cannot be responsible for late reservations or if our room block has been exhausted, but will make every effort to secure alternative hotel space if it has. Accordingly, it is advisable to register for the Conference and to reserve a hotel room as soon as possible.
The GSA does not mail badges or meal tickets. These are distributed at the on-site Registration Desk.
Admission to the Conference is restricted to those who wear badges. Persons who are not wearing badges are not authorized to be present in the hotel locations where the Conference is taking place, the concourse area, and all meeting rooms. Badges must be obtained prior to entering these locations.
The Preliminary Program is printed on this site. The German Studies Association reserves the right to change this program at any time. Accordingly, sessions may be moved in date, time, and location, and participants in those sessions may be changed. The Association may replace moderators, commentators, or presenters, and may alter their topics. The printed Program, available in August, will contain updated information. However, there are always last-minute changes.
Arrival in the Hotel is generally on Thursday. Departure is generally on Sunday after noon.
The Association will operate an on-site Registration Desk, which will open on Thursday, October 5, at 3:30PM and will remain open until 8:00PM. Persons attending the Conference must obtain their badges before entering the Conference area. The Registration Desk will also open at 7:30AM on Friday and will remain open until 4:00PM. The desk will be open on Saturday from 8:00AM until 12 noon.
